Why have I started a YouTube Channel?

Updated: Jan 12, 2024

I am obsessed with YouTube. I stroll through the videos daily and am subscribed to various YouTubers. My thinking has been, if they can do it, why not I? So, here I am. The only problem is that I don't really have a YouTube identity as of yet. I'm still finding my way. What I am sure of is that my audience are women. Particularly women over 30 who want a closer walk with the Lord, who want a lasting relationship with a mate, who are struggling with their weight due to the many changes our bodies go through throughout our lives, who are mothers, who are wives, and who are daughters. I am all of these things. None of which make me a specialist on anything, but do give authenticity to anything I decide to share.

I am currently working on being consistent in my activities. I have just begun to listen to Atomic Habits, by James Clear. In the first few minutes, I was sure that I could change bad habits into habits that made a significant difference in my life. As a 50+ woman with a husband and adult child living at home, a job that borrows a good 14 hours from my life daily, and a procrastinator who scrolls through social media instead of doing what she said she was going to do, I am certain that I can make little changes in 2024 that will alter the trajectory of my life.

My goals for 2024 include posting 300 YouTube shorts, 300 short 2 - 5 minute YouTube videos, and 50 long format well edited YouTube videos. Now that I have listened to the first 5 minutes of Atomic Habits, I have added blogging to my 2024 goals. I will post 100 blogs this year as I build my digital identity and make 31Ten31 a brand.

Lastly, I will finish the Audible book that I started over a year ago. My original goal for this book was to write 100 pages, have a ghost writer edit it, and then publish to Audible as original content. I have written about 60 pages, but continue to lie to myself by saying my day job is getting in the way. If I want a future that is different than my present reality, then I need to put in the work.

I have realized that if I put forth a fraction of the effort toward myself and my future, I could exceed my goals and accomplish great things that make a difference in my life and that of my immediate family.

So here's to small daily steps that make a difference and here's to writing one's own course.

Peace & Blessings
